The WebGen IUE System – An OverviewWebGen’s IUE System is the first intelligent, predictive energy conservation network that applies neural networks – a form of artificial intelligence - to actually learn energy consumption patterns throughout the enterprise and execute smart conservation strategies to reduce energy costs in real- time. IUE empowers organizations by providing a complete overview of energy usage, expenditures, and savings at the device, meter and portfolio levels. With comprehensive metering, monitoring, and data aggregation, IUE delivers up-to-the minute reports and analyses that show management the energy consumed at the meter, device, building and building portfolio level, rather than on just one building at a time. In addition to metering and monitoring, IUE automatically forecasts energy needs and executes energy-saving strategies when appropriate. For real-time forecasting, IUE assesses device consumption data in conjunction with variables that drive energy use and cost such as: external weather, space occupancy and temperature, energy prices, and market demand. Based on proven conservation strategies and agreed-upon energy-saving criteria, IUE then automatically executes pre-defined, intelligent energy saving strategies aimed at permanent load reduction, peak load management (avoidance and reduction), and voluntary and emergency curtailment. Available capacity garnered from these strategies can be sold back to the grid, thus creating new revenue streams for WebGen’s customers. WebGen’s IUE System also provides complete billing information comparing baseline data to actual use and allows for comparison to utility bills, thereby empowering enterprises with an accurate assessment of true energy use and costs. Depending on building type and location, WebGen customers can expect to save 12% or more on overall energy expenditures. |
